I recently had the pleasure of being interviewed by my amazing client, Maureen Gaspari, the founder and CEO of The Creative Impact. Maureen is a talented Showit website designer, content creator, business coach, and a busy boy mom.
In our conversation, we tackled some of the most common concerns and questions about branding photography and how to make your next branding photoshoot a success. Here are a few key takeaways:
I shared that branding photography is an investment, just like investing in your brand and website design, marketing, or a business coach. These professional branding photos are crucial for building trust and creating a strong online presence. People need to see your business more than 7 times before they make their purchasing or investment decisions.
Choosing a photographer is about more than just liking their work. I recommend finding a few photographers whose style matches your brand vibe and who you are interested in working with. Next, get on a discovery or consultation call with them and ask lots of questions to find one that is the right fit for your visions and budget.
During our chat, I shared practical wardrobe tips, emphasizing solid colors, comfortable clothing, and outfits that align with your personality. I advised avoiding certain patterns such as small stripes or dots that may distract from your face and expressions.
Having great communication with your photographer will help you have a stress-free photo session. On the day before, pack everything you need and confirm key details with your photographer. On the day of the shoot, give yourself extra time for preparation so you can arrive feeling confident and ready to have fun!
A clear must-shot list is key for a productive and successful photoshoot. I shared that collaborating with your photographer and keeping the communication going, especially if you don’t like something or some poses.
If you are nervous about being photographed, I suggest practicing poses in advance with some of your favorite outfits, seeing how they flow standing and sitting, paying attention to the poses you love, saving them somewhere, and working with a photographer who you like and knows how to guide you naturally can help!
From studios to outdoor spaces, your location should align with your brand vibe and your photoshoot vision. I shared that I go to PeerSpace.com to find the perfect photo session location for my clients and it’s so easy to book a space. From photography studios to apartments, to homes, they have lots of options for your next photo sessions, workshops, or events. Anyone can use it.
