One of the things I love is to design a yearly family album for my family. My children love to go through the albums and talked about things we did as a family, places we've been to, and what cake we had for our birthdays.
Here are 3 simple photography-related activities that you can do as a family.
Activity #1: If you have a family album(s) already printed and it's been sitting on the bookshelf or the coffee table, take them out, look at the album(s) together and relive the memories. If you don't have a recent album made, go to your computer and look at the last family pictures or vacation pictures together as a family. Oh and don't forget those family videos too!
Activity #2: Did you say scrapbooking? Yes, scrapbooking is so easy and fun. Simply start by ordering a 12x12 album, scrapbooking accessories (stickers, scrapbook papers, glitter pens, and don't forget the mounting adhesives to tape your pictures.) and order 20-30 prints (Bay Photo is what I recommend to my clients) from your recent family session or vacation pictures and have everything shipped to your house. Once you have everything, it's time to start scrapbooking. You are making memories together while designing your beautiful family album. Priceless!
Activity #3: Take pictures together. I bought a children camera for my daughter last Christmas and she loves it! She takes pictures of all of us and also random things around the house. I will go through the pictures with her and she gets to show off her art. There are thousands of things your children can take pictures of and then do a show and tell later. How fun is that?
