How to preserve your priceless photographs

Recently someone asked me how to preserve her parents’ old photographs. They are in frames and she’s running out of space to display them.

Preserving your family’s photography prints is a priceless investment.

These tangible memories hold a special place in our hearts and deserve to be cherished for generations to come.

Here are 5 ways you can preserve your photography prints: 

• Store them in archival-quality sleeves or albums to protect them from dust, moisture, and sunlight.
• Handle them with clean, dry hands or wear cotton gloves to prevent fingerprints and oils from damaging the prints.
• Keep them away from extreme temperatures and humidity by storing them in a cool, dry place.
• Avoid displaying them in direct sunlight or near heat sources to prevent fading and discoloration.
• Go to your local camera shop to have these photographs digitized and/or restored so you have digital copies of your prints as a backup, in case of damage or loss.
