I’m so excited to launch my new website!
I was feeling stuck for a while and was never happy with my website, no matter how many hours I spent updating it. I didn’t have a clear idea of what makes me unique from the sea of photographers.
When Jill from JKL Consulting was offering a website and social media audit, I immediately signed up because I wanted to know what I was missing, how to improve, and have a clear message. Jill did her audit and delivered a 12-page document. I agreed with a lot of the things she pointed out that could be improved.
So, I decided to hire Jill to do my brand development and create my new website on Showit. If you haven’t heard of Showit, I highly recommend you check it out. This is a drag-and-drop website platform for photographers where you have complete creative control over how you want your website to look and function. I was really happy to move away from Weebly.
It was an eye-opening experience during the 3 months we worked together. As an artist and a type-A personality, I had to give up a lot of the design control over to her. I’m glad I did because she knows what looks good in order to attract my ideal client. Her branding and website questionnaire helped me really dive deep into who I want to work with and where I want to take my business. Jill did a fantastic job on my website!
I also hired Caryn from StarrGates Business Communications to do the copywriting for my website. I struggle with words, big time, because English is my second language. She was a huge help in writing the copy that conveyed the right messaging to my audience and combined it with my personality.
This process is so valuable because now I’m clear on who my ideal clients are, how I help my clients when they book a photography session with me, and I was able to learn something new about myself.
When you are clear about your business, people can refer the right clients to you.
If you feel stuck about knowing who your ideal clients are and how you are different from others in your industry, I highly recommend working with a brand developer.
I’d love to know what you think about the new website. Comment below.
